Self-compassion can be hard to put into practice. It's easier to be supportive to our friends and loved ones when they're struggling, while we judge and criticize ourselves in our own challenging moments.
Are you ready to finally give yourself the self-compassion you deserve? Launch your best summer yet by leaving self-criticism behind and embracing self-compassion! Discover how to actually cultivate compassion for yourself through the simple-to-follow steps of the Compassion Practice, a meditative and mindfulness practice that has transformed many people's lives. With this simple practice, you can tap into the amazing benefits of compassion for mind, body and spirit! Join us this summer for this 6-week guided online course and make self-compassion a way of life. |
No one teaches us how to give ourselves compassion -- until now!
What You'll Learn
This 6-week online course focuses on the first two steps of the Compassion Practice: Getting Grounded and Cultivating Compassion for Oneself.
In step one, Getting Grounded, we learn to take a step back from it all and catch our breath in challenging moments. We get some distance from the situation and return to our sources of love and vitality to help us activate a wellspring of compassion within.
In step two, Cultivating Compassion for Oneself, we take a "U-turn" to check in with ourselves. We give attention to our needs and our pain before we try to cultivate compassion for others. We must turn inward and listen to our inner cries before we can compassionately hear and respond to the cries of those around us. By the end of this 6-week online course, you will know how to connect with yourself and your own needs and offer compassionate actions towards yourself no matter what comes your way. This course will gather virtually each week on Thursdays via Zoom, from June 2nd through July 7th. Two sessions are offered to fit your schedule — a morning session gathering at 10:30 AM PT and an evening session gathering at 6:30 PM PT. |
What is the Compassion Practice? The Compassion Practice, developed by Frank Rogers, Jr., of the Center for Engaged Compassion, is a 4-step mindfulness and meditative practice that offers a radical pathway to transformation. Incorporating mindful attention to our internal experience, the Compassion Practice nurtures authentic compassion for others AND ourselves.

About BELOVED Compassion Network |
BELOVED Compassion Network (BCN) is an educational nonprofit dedicated to teaching individuals and organizations to cultivate compassion and to take compassionate action in the world. BCN uses a proven meditative/experiential program called the “Compassion Practice” to cultivate compassion for self and others and to discern appropriate compassionate action. Brian D. McLaren wrote of the Compassion Practice, “Everybody believes in compassion, but nobody tells you how to practice it. Until now!” In addition, BCN uses the principles of the Compassion Practice to engage personal and social issues such as forgiveness, grief, overcoming the stigma of mental illness, and dismantling systemic racism.
